December 29, 2016
2016 has been quite something for all of us: Bob Dylan winning Nobel Prize for Literature, Netherlands not making it to Euro 2016, Brexit… For Sweek, this was a very important year – the launch year! Looking back at everything that happened in 2016, we can definitely say that this was a very thrilling year for our Sweek team and we are excited about what 2017 will bring. In the meantime, here are some highlights of our 2016!
More than 35,000 users in 90 countries joined Sweek. They wrote stories in more than 20 languages, which were read 130,571 times
Welcome to Sweek!
Our Sweek team welcomed 9 more nationalities
Including Brazil, India, Turkey and Russia
We had 751 Skype calls (with a small fraction of those being double due to skype problems;))
59 late nights were spent by the laptop to release new functionality as soon as possible!
We drank 5,690 coffee cups, with Peter Paul and Veronika contributing to those the most. Quite a few were a direct result of late nights mentioned above 😉
We had 295 brainstorms during which approximately 25 kilos of candy was consumed. Chocolate does seem to contribute to brain activity 😉
We ate 27 kilos of Dutch cheese, of which approximately half ended up on our tostis
Tostis, a.k.a. Dutch lunch
Related to that, 3 kilos of arm muscle was gained while trying to cut cheese (How to be Dutch 101)
Daily workout 😉
167 times a non-Dutchie team member mentioned how weird it is to eat bread with butter and sprinkles (or cookies). They might be right about this one…
Cookies on bread, you say?
147 paper- and ebooks were read by our team + 1290 Sweek stories
Stories never end, do they?
79 pinball competitions took place. 1,125 happy/unhappy exclamations were shout out during those…
Thank you all for being there with us during this year, and see you in 2017!
Cheers to 2017!
