đŸ‘‡đŸŒHOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FANDOMđŸ‘‡đŸŒ

What if my fanfiction can be considered as more than one category (for example Movies and Books)?

  • It does not matter which one you pick in this case. Choose the one that might bring you more readers.

What if my story is a crossover (a mix of two books/tv shows/movies etc.)?

  • It is also up to you which fandom you choose. We suggest selecting the one that represents a bigger part of your fanfiction.

Is there any rules for how much chapter in our story?

    • Marta, Reply

No, there is no lower/upper limit.

  • Rima El-Boustani, Reply

in terms of music are we submitting a story based on a piece of music or a song based on someones music?

    • Marta, Reply

You have to submit a piece of fan fiction and assign it to one of the categories (fandoms) that matches your entry.

For example, if you write a story about One Direction, then you choose 'Music' as your category, as One Direction was a music band. If you write on Sherlock Holmes, you choose 'Books' and so on.

*cries* I have been waiting for this contest my whole life.

  • Ansha, Reply

Hi! If the first chapter of the fanfiction is already posted on Sweek (as part of flash fiction), but the rest of the chapters aren't, can the fanfiction still be entered?

    • Marta, Reply

Your fanficion entry has to be completed which means that if it's not finished and uploaded as a whole on Sweek, it will not be taking part in the contest.

  • Ansha, Reply

And do all chapters have to be posted at once, or can I post one chapter at a time over the period of competition?

    • Marta, Reply

It is up to you, whatever you think it's better for your readers. :)

  • Larah Ferreira, Reply

I need to put the name of the fandom or just #SweekFanFicMusic? For example, I want to write a fanfic about BTS. So I need to tag #SweekFanFicARMY?

    • Marta, Reply

You can only use the tags and fandoms we mentioned in the post. If there is no category that matches your fanfiction, please classify it as 'other' and just write a tag #SweekFanFic.

  • Uchechi, Reply

Please, how many words is the contest?

    • Sweek team, Reply

Hi, there is no word limit for this writing contest :)

  • Shalvina Lokhande, Reply

What if story is totally different and not connected to any category mentioned above. A total different fictional story. Will my story be in competition?

    • Marta, Reply

If it is still fan fiction, please just write a tag: #SweekFanFic what classify it as 'other'. Please do not enter this contest if your story is not an example of flash fiction.

  • TheServalWriter, Reply

Ooh, interesting! I'm working on a series and I'd love to vote for y'all!

  • OIrineMY, Reply

Is there a limit to the number of participants in the story?

    • the Sweek team, Reply

      Hey Olrine,
Sorry for the late reply, and no. Everyone can participate, there are no set amount of entries! So tell all your friends ;)

  • Josh, Reply

What a great idea for a contest! I hope people read the story that I just posted for it. :)

  • Neha Varadharajan, Reply

    Hi there,
Can we edit the story as many times as we like before the deadline? Can we do that during the voting phase too? If
I am the lucky person to be shortlisted that is.

    • the Sweek team, Reply

      Hey Neha,

Yes, you're free to edit your story in any way you see fit before the deadline. Once the submission phase is over however, any further changes will not be taken into consideration by the judges.

  • Neha Varadharajan, Reply

    Hey there,
Can the entry be a novella or book- length story?

    • the Sweek team, Reply

      Hi Neha,

There's no word limit for this contest, so go nuts!

  • Joanne, Reply

I have this book called The Beauty Within You, which is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but in modern day fiction. Am I free to enter that story in? Please answer ASAP.

    • the Sweek team, Reply

Yes. Be aware however, that your chances of winning will increase considerably if you introduce some element of originality to the plot, and not just the setting.

  • junesonata, Reply

    • the Sweek team, Reply

I was just informed about this but from my understanding, would the next contest will be held on July 6, 2019 and end on August 26, 2019?

    • the Sweek team, Reply

      Hi Claudia,

We haven't scheduled another Fan-Fiction contest as of yet. At present, we're running the SweekStars 2018 contest (which you can find here: http://bit.ly/Sweekstarsblog) and the #MicroWish contest (which you can find here: http://bit.ly/microwish). As soon as we're ready to launch another fanfic contest, we'll be posting about it here and on our social media channels, so stay tuned! :)
